Our Boone Society is a dynamic “cyber organization” with three major objectives:

1. - to provide a reference service for people interested in their genealogy and their history and to researchers with information about the Boone families and the very good friends of those early Boone families, such as the Bryans. We have a resident genealogist who works from a very large data base of names and families with several hundred volumes of books and papers to consult. We have qualified historians for discussions. We have a “top notch” quarterly publication “Compass” to complement our other reference help. It truly is the “glue” that binds us together. You can also read further on this web site about our excellent DNA project headed by Dell Boone Ariola. The project is now nearing 150 participants.
2. - to identify and preserve Boone artifacts and sites. We count several cemetery or grave memorials and preservation projects as completed or underway. The very best way to honor and thank our ancestors is to become involved in their history.
3. - to hold a biennial reunion. As these lines are written, the greatly successful 2008 Lexington Reunion has just been completed. You can read about it and previous reunions on this web site. Over the years, many permanent friendships have been built through these wonderful events. As in all things, people are the key. While most of us might be 7th cousins, you are truly impressed by the cheerful, knowledgeable, talented and enthusiastic people who make up our membership. A very special trip was taken by 24 members in 2007 to England to explore our English roots, the ancestors of Squire Boone.
